Meet AgeMaine

Introducing AgeMaine.

The new name for Southern Maine Agency on Aging.

For more than 50 years, you’ve known us as Southern Maine Agency on Aging. You’ve called with questions, welcomed us at your door, and trusted us to help care for someone you love.

You may have first found us through a friend, a doctor’s recommendation, or a phone call when you weren’t quite sure where else to turn. Now, we’re AgeMaine. Our name has changed. Our commitment to you has not.

A name that reflects the work ahead

Sometimes, the work grows beyond the name. Ours has.

Our work starts with people: a meal delivered by someone who stops to ask how you’re doing, a familiar voice on the phone, a table where neighbors become friends, a place where someone you love feels known. It continues wherever decisions about aging are made, bringing our neighbors’ experiences into conversations about policy, funding, and what Maine needs next.

Maine is the oldest state in the country. That brings both opportunity and responsibility. We can help shape a future where people have choices about how they age, stay connected to their communities, and find support when they need it.

AgeMaine reflects that purpose. Our direct services remain rooted in Cumberland and York counties, and our leadership reaches across Maine. Our new name carries forward the trust we’ve built while making room for the work ahead.

Same people. Same programs. Same commitment.
You’ll begin seeing a new name, logo, and look. You’ll still find the staff and volunteers you know, the programs you rely on, and a trusted place to turn.

We remain your Agency on Aging. Whether you have a question about Medicare, need support at home, or are caring for someone you love, we’re here to help you understand your options and decide what’s right for you.

Start with us.

You don’t need to know which program to ask for or have everything figured out. Tell us what’s on your mind. We’ll listen, talk through your options, and help you find a place to start.

Call 207.396.6500 or email us.

See how the care and connections we build every day are helping shape a future where more Mainers can age well in the places they love.

You're in the right place!

Southern Maine Agency on Aging is now AgeMaine.
