Age Forward: Building Maine's Future Together

Monday, October 5, 2026 | 5:00pm

Portland Center
2320 Congress St, Portland

As the oldest state in the nation, Maine isn’t just experiencing the future of aging – we have an opportunity to lead it.

Age Forward: Building Maine’s Future Together is where that future begins.

This event will be an inspiring evening of conversation, connection, and purpose as we imagine what’s possible when we rethink aging- not as a story of decline, but as one of purpose, opportunity, and continued contribution.

Gather with us under the tent for a cocktail reception, a seated dinner inspired by Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program, thought-provoking insights from nationally recognized aging expert Matt Thornhill, and the public unveiling of Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s new name and bold vision for leading the future of aging in Maine.

As Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s signature fundraising event, Age Forward celebrates what’s possible while investing in what matters most. Every ticket purchased and every dollar raised supports the programs, services, and advocacy that help thousands of older adults across southern Maine remain healthy, independent, connected, and engaged in the communities they call home.

While the conversation about aging is changing, our commitment is not. Southern Maine Agency on Aging remains steadfast in ensuring that older adults with the greatest social and economic needs have the support they need to age safely, with dignity, and in the homes and communities they love.

Join us as we build Maine’s future together.
