We are so excited to invite our partners, volunteers, and community members to our annual Charting the Future Event! This year’s theme is Shining a Light on Social Connection and is inspired by our strategic plan and North Star goal of finding a source of social connection for all older adults in the state of Maine by 2035. The event will be focused on education, community, building partnerships, and finding new ways, together, to reach our vision.
We’ll hear from a panel of experts including Marpheen Chann of Khmer Maine, Heidi Lester and Izzy Ostrowski from Equality Maine, and Dr. John Newby, a caregiver and physician. We will also celebrate the announcement of SMAA awardees who have made major impacts over the past year, enjoy a delicious boxed lunch, and provide plenty of fun and engaging opportunities to connect with like-minded members of our caring community. Come prepared to learn about and engage in social connection!
The event is scheduled for Friday, September 5 from 11 AM to 1PM. Doors and registration open at 10:30 AM, so be sure to come early if you want extra time to connect with new and old friends! We’re gathering at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport, ME.
We would love to see you at this impactful, community event. Tickets can be purchased here. Spread the word!
