Southern Maine Agency on Aging is THRILLED to announce that we are busily working on a SMAA location in Portland, to be open to the public this fall! The Portland Center will mirror our Biddeford and Springvale location offerings, including an Adult Day Program, information and resources, nutrition services, Medicare counseling, and more.
Maine is home to the highest percentage of older adults in the nation. This expansion will increase our capacity to serve more individuals with the greatest social and economic need, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for older Mainers and their families.
As the population of Maine residents 65 and older continues to grow, the demand for quality, comprehensive care grows with it. We are seeking your support and connections in spreading awareness about our new Adult Day Program at the Portland Center.
Adult Day is geared toward older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Our programs are designed to be physically and cognitively stimulating, and we tailor activities for different needs as every member is a valued individual. While our warm and welcoming team creates a deep sense of belonging for members, their caregivers are able to receive the time that they need to recharge.
We will be sharing flyers, sending newsletters, and posting to social media about the center. You can help by sharing these with your friends, loved ones, and community members.
