STATE-OF-THE-HEART PROGRAM
Exercise and Movement
It is important for people with memory impairment to be physically active. Benefits range from improved cognition, more stable mobility, and increased self-esteem.
We plan various physical activities throughout the day based on your loved one's interests so they can feel relaxed, stronger, and invigorated.
Friends New and Old
Social interaction improves cognition while building a sense of community. The Sam L. Cohen Center provides numerous opportunities for members to meet new friends or engage with familiar ones. Friendships are one of the things we like to encourage the most here because it's our friends that make us happy. We encourage ongoing friendships and the start of new ones because of the fulfilling connections it supplies our members.
Brain Healthy Activities
The Sam L. Cohen Center offers an array of activities each day geared to stimulating all facets of the mind. These activities are fun, creative, and fulfilling for our members.
Nutritious Meals and Snacks
A well-balanced diet is essential to brain health and memory. Each day we serve a delicious meal for lunch and offer nutritious snacks throughout the day. Furthermore, our members often take part in baking activities. Your loved one will be eating yummy food packed with healthy nutrients and vitamins, and also having fun preparing if they want to.
