August 18, 2019 - Sunday, 9am (Rain date: August 25)
Lakeside Archery, North Yarmouth - DIRECTIONS
Event Coordinator: Steve Dunsmoor

Events: Barebow compound (no sights), compound release (sights), compound fingers (sights), barebow recurve (no sights) and recurve (sights).

The "900" American round rules will be used for competition. 90 arrows will be shot as follows: 30 arrows from 60 yards, 30 arrows from 50 yards, and 30 arrows from 40 yards (5 ends of 6 arrows). 

You must bring your own bows and arrows. Lunch is available (additional fee) or you may bring your own.

Teams must be of one gender and there are seperate tournaments for men and women. Team rosters must be sent in by the Team Captain. Teams will be divided into age groups in a round robin tournament. If there are not enough teams in your bracket you may play up or down.

The Big 20 Bowling Center, Scarborough - DIRECTIONS

Events: Men's and women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles (may not compete in both doubles events).

Bowlers will compete in their own age division. Lanes are assigned by the event coordinator. Tournament will be based on scratch scores. Three games will be bowled and winners are determined by the total pins of the three games. A tie will be determined by a one game play off.

Athletes are encouraged to bring own shoes and bowling balls. Shoes are available if necessary. Lunch may be purchased at the lanes.

This is NOT a National Senior Games event.

Events: Men's and women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles (may not compete in both doubles events).

Montreal Street & Eastern Promenade, Portland - DIRECTIONS

Maine Senior Games, Friends of Eastern Promenade, and Mike Dunnigan (Founder of Buoy Toss) have partnered together to bring this event the Maine Senior Games for 2019!

Explore Buoy Toss will take place on July 13 from 9-11am. Stop by anytime to come and try out the game. Explore Buoy Toss is a free event. Equipment will be provided.

Sanford/Springvale YMCA - DIRECTIONS

Events: Men's/Women's Singles (3:30), Men's/Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles (5:00). You may sign up for only one doubles event - either men's and women's OR mixed.

Rules

  • Cornhole boards are positions 27' from the front edge to front edge of the board for ages 45-74 and 20' for ages 75-100
  • Pitchers Boxes: A designed pitcher box is a 4' x 3' area at each end of the court and on both sides of each board
  • Foul Lines: The front edge of the Cornhole board is the foul line
  • No elimination scoring 


Scoring 
The object of the game is to score 21 points by throwing beanbags onto or through the hold of the cornhole board opposite from you.

  • Landing the beanbag through the hole - 3 points (cornhole)
  • Beanbag knocked into the hole by another bag - 3 points
  • Landing the beanbag on the board - 1 point (woody) 
  • Beanbag half on the board - 1 point
  • Beanbag half on the board and touching the floor - 0 points
  • Landing the beanbag anywhere other than the board - 0 points
  • Beanbags landing on the board after hitting the floor - 0 points and bag removed
  • Beanbag resting on the board, then getting knocked off by another bag - 0 points

Gameplay
Teams of two people. Partners stand at opposite boxes on the same side and face each other. Each team has four bags of one color. All eight bags begin at one end. A player may throw from anywhere behind the front of the box. Players will alternate throws. If the bag hits the group and bounces or slides onto the board, it must be removed from play. The team who wins the round throws first on subsequent rounds. Each player has 20 seconds per throw. Game goes to 21 points. 

September 15, 2019- Sunday, 9am 20K 10:30am (10KTT), 11:30 (5KTT)
Kennebunkport Bicycle Company - DIRECTIONS
Event Coordinator: Brian Johnson 

Events: 5K Timed Trial, 10K Timed Trial, and 20K Timed trials will be at one minute intervals.

Cyclists who qualify in either the 5k or 10k timed trials may enter both time trial events at the National Senior Games. Cyclists who qualify in either the 20k or 40k road races may enter both races at the National Senior Games. 

Cyclists must have a bib number in order to compete (same number for all races…we will provide the numbers). Cyclists must provide own bicycles and helmets. Helmets are mandatory.  

Course Route - 5k (2 loops)

  • Go to end of the road and bear right.
  • Take a right at the stop sign and continue until River Road.
  • Take a right onto River Road and continue until the stop sign.
  • Take a right onto Arundel Road and back to Kennebunkport Bicycle Company.

Course Route - 10k (1 loop), 20k (2 loops)

  • Continue for 3.4 miles on Arundel Road.
  • At the stop sign take a right onto Old Post Road (turns into Sinott Road).
  • At the end of Sinott Road take a right onto Log Cabin Road.
  • Take a right onto Arundel Road and back to Kennebunkport Bicycle Company.

September 29, 2019 - Sunday, 10:00am
The Gold Room, Portland - DIRECTIONS

Single elimination tournament bracket. Preliminary rounds, best of 5 games. (Single start/ double finish), cricket, cork, calls 3rd game. Winner advances in the winner's bracket. Final round will be best of 5 games: 501, cricket, 501, cricket, cork calls 5th game. Coin toss to determine first cork shooter (who must cork first) then alternates every game.

September 9, 2019 - Monday, 8:30am
Willowdale Golf Club, Scarborough - DIRECTIONS
Golf Pro: Jared Hourihan

Event is a shotgun start at 8:30am and will be an 18 hole scratch. Golf cars will be provided and must be used. Golfers must provide own clubs. Foursomes will be put together by the golf pro or you may create your own teams.

Fee for this even includes lunch.

This event is only being offered on the qualifying years for National Senior Games (even years).

Cape Elizabeth High School - DIRECTIONS

Events are open to men and women.

Hot Shot Rules - 90 second competition starts at the half court line. There will be 2, 90 second rounds and combined score will determine the winners. Players must rebound and dribble from one shooting spot to another. There are 5 spots to shoot from including a 3-pointer. Each player is permitted to score two lay-ups (2 points). Anyone shooting at all 5 spots (regardless of whether they go in) will get a bonus of 5 points.

Foul Shooting Rules - players receive 5 practice shots. Players will shoot 2 rounds of 15 shots. 20 seconds allowed for each shot. If you go over the foul line before the ball hits the rim, the shot will not count. Highest combined score wins. 

This is NOT a National Senior Games event.

This event limited to 150 people and we may also limit age groups as we get closer. The cutoff date is May 15th or 150, whichever comes first. Both partners MUST register! Tournament format will be Round Robin although subject to change depending on number of registrations.

This event is only being offered on the qualifying years for National Senior games (even years).

September 28, 2019 - Saturday, 10am (warm up), 11am (meet starts)
Bangor YMCA - DIRECTIONS

Events: Backstroke (50, 100, 200), Breaststroke (50, 100, 200), Butterfly (50, 100, 200), Freestyle (50, 100, 200, 500), and Individual Medley (100, 200, 400)

Swimmers may only enter 6 events. If possible, please include your seed time on registration form.

October 5, 2019 - Saturday, 10am

Events: Men's and women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

Events are round robin (best 3 out of 5). Games are to 11 and must win by 2. Athletes must provide own paddle (red on one side, black on the other). Game balls will be provided.
