Free Do-it-Yourself DVD Helps with Medicare D

Open Enrollment will be November 15-December 31, 2010

Scarborough, Maine—The Southern Maine Agency on Aging has produced a DVD to help people eligible for Medicare choose and enroll in a Medicare Prescription Drug (Part D) plan. The do-it-yourself DVD is for those who have a DVD player and a computer, so the DVD can be paused while steps are taken on the Medicare.gov web site.

The DVD, “Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage,” is available free by request. The DVD gives an overview of how to use the Medicare.gov website and what to consider when selecting a prescription drug plan.

Call SMAA at 207-396-6500 from the Portland area or 1-800-427-7411 to request the DVD. You can also open and view the DVD on-line at www.smaaa.org. Click on Medicare D directly from the home page and select the “View Do-it-Yourself DVD” link.

The Agency on Aging also offers Medicare D enrollment assistance by calling 207-396-6500 in the Portland area or toll-free 1-800-427-7411.
