The Southern Maine Agency on Aging helps seniors—and/or their families—sort through the many programs and services available to help older adults live independently well into their senior years. Our Elder Advocates, who are licensed social workers, work with seniors—and/or their families—by phone or in-person to provide information, advice and referrals.

How an Elder Advocate Can Help

The Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s Elder Advocates are well-qualified individuals who can provide information, resources, advice and referrals to seniors and/or their families.

Elder Advocates are:

  • Licensed social workers with geriatric experience
  • Well-versed in issues affecting seniors as well as the programs and services  of help to seniors.
