Living Well for Better Health Leader Training

The Living Well for Better Health Leader training consists of 28 hours offered a four day period.

Leaders are regular people (lay leaders), many of whom have chronic illnesses, who want to use their skills to help others in managing and coping with their own chronic illness. Leaders work in pairs to help foster a supportive environment.

The ideal leader will understand the importance of self-management, dependability, strong listening skills, flexibility, and the ability to facilitate and speak in front of groups.

A Matter of Balance Coach Training

The Matter of Balance Coach Training consists of 8 hours over two days.

Coaches help participants become more confident and help to reduce the fear of falling by helping participants to believe that they can increase their strength, find ways to reduce falls, and protect themselves if they do fall.

The ideal coach will have good communication and strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, dependability, and a willingness to lead small groups of older adults. Coaches also need to be physically able to lead low to moderate level exercise.
