For more than 35 years, the Southern Maine Agency on Aging (SMAA) has served as the area’s leading resource on information, programs and services to improve the well-being of seniors living in Cumberland and York counties.
Founded in 1973, under the authority of the Federal Older Americans Act, the Southern Maine Agency on Aging, is a non-profit organization dedicated to planning and implementing social services for adults age 60 and older.
Our programs and services are designed to foster independence, reduce the burden on family and caregivers and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
Throughout the year, our 82 full-time staff and 1,200 volunteers help connect many thousands of seniors and their families with the appropriate programs and services they need to help them live healthy, active and independent lives.
If you are an older adult, or you have a family member who is an older adult, living in York or Cumberland county, we would love to hear from you. Give us a call today.
