Easy Adventures
Easy Adventures is a health promotion initiative that coordinates low intensity, fun outdoor activities for aging adults (the 50+or -
set, we like to say!). We have offered raft trips, “get back on a bike” events, geo-caching, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and skating and horseback riding. The idea is to get adults together in a sociable, fun and active outdoor setting.
The planning group for the Easy Adventure initiative includes health and recreation professionals from the Southern Maine Agency on Aging, the four Healthy Maine Partnerships of Cumberland County (two Communities Promoting Health Coalitions, Healthy Casco Bay, Healthy Portland), Secure Horizons by United Health Care, and recreation departments from Cumberland and York counties. Additional partners include DeLorme, Carters XC Ski, Falmouth Family Ice, Camp Ketcha and Pineland Farms.
Events are $10 or less. Any adult from Cumberland and York County may participate. The events are targeted at 30-80 year olds.
We are promoted by your local recreation department. If you don’t see us in your town’s catalog, ask about it!
