Volunteer Opportunities

For Volunteers 55 and older

Are you age 55 or older?

Do you have time to volunteer and want to make a difference?

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) here at SMAA has a large inventory of volunteer opportunities for you to choose from.

How it Works

We supply volunteers for dozens of nonprofits throughout Cumberland and York Counties. Among the many opportunities are positions to

  • Help seniors remain in their own homes
  • Tutor students and ESL adults
  • Mentor youth
  • Provide meals for seniors
  • Assist immigrants
  • Work with veterans
  • Protect the environment
  • Help seniors stay healthy

Why Volunteer with RSVP?

RSVP will put your professional, technical, and personal skills to work to benefit others at times convenient for you.

You can choose from a huge variety of volunteer positions and opportunities.

An RSVP coordinator will stay in touch with you to make sure everything goes well and will help find other opportunities if desired.

RSVP and the organizations it works with recognize the full value of your contribution as a volunteer.

RSVP provides and arranges for training, experience, and the opportunity for talented volunteers to help direct and manage projects.

As an RSVP volunteer, you are eligible for accident and liability insurance.

Best of all, you gain the satisfaction that you are using your life experience to make a difference in the lives of others.
